Of all the brooches she wore, the turquoise flower brooch pin by Erickson Beamon is memorable especially since she has worn it with several outfits. She wore it centred on the neckline with a turquoise dress designed by Maria Pinto and centred on a black print dress with a yellow cardigan. She also wore this Erickson Beamon turquoise brooch centred on a white dress. Wearing brooches at the top button of cardigans with the rest of the cardigan unbuttoned is another signature look for Michelle Obama.

The chunky pearl necklace by Tom Binns is simply stunning. Obama wore this necklace to the 2009 Governor’s Dinner held at the White House with a sequinned long black strapless dress.

The swarovski crystal necklace with fresh-water pearls which the first lady wore to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in May 2009 is also memorable for its pink crocheted crystal flower which was the centerpiece of this statement necklace. This pink asymmetrical flower necklace was created by London/Delhi-based Designer St-Erasmus.

Most recently Obama is appearing on the December 2009 women of the year issue of Glamour magazine in yet another statement necklace by Fenton’s Dana Lorenz. This festive statement necklace reminded me of a holly as it includes two satin green bows. The necklace works well with the red dress worn by Obama which in all captures the Christmas spirit. Obama also wore a statement necklace previously by Fenton’s Dana Lorenz on a visit to Moscow. This statement necklace combined large clusters of baubles with crystal, silver and glass and vintage coin detail. With it Obama wore a simple white cardigan twinset and black trousers. If I am honest this necklace really did not appeal to me.
